The Clinical and Experimental Research Center has extensively focused the research activity on the effect of physical exercise alone or in association with therapies for functional and metabolic recovery of damaged organs.
Different researches have been implemented to study the rehabilitation effects on the cellular regeneration, neo-angiogenesis, cardiovascular inflammation, muscular function.
At present, the research is focused on the mechanisms of functional recovery in several rehabilitating and chronic cardiovascular diseases, such as heart failure . Particular attention has been addressed to the cellular and molecular aspects occurring during the development of the pathology in muscle and in adipose tissue and to the molecular mechanisms regulating the cross-talk between these two tissues.
Prof. Rosano has a wide experience ranging over many cardiological and internal medicine branches. In particular he has a valuable expertise in the field of heart diseases such as myocardial infarction, heart failure, arterial hypertension, metabolic syndrome and obesity, in their gender aspects as in acute, chronic and rehabilitative aspects.
He is the Director of the Center of Clinical and Experimental Medicine, in IRCCS San Raffaele Institute of Rome, Member of the S.A.G. Cardiovascular of the European Medicine Agency, Adjunct Professor in Cardiology, TUFTS University of Boston - USA, Vice Chairman of the S.A.G Cardiovascular of the European Medicine Agency.
